What It Is
A puddle light is a small LED unit that sits inside your car door or side mirror housing. When you open the door, it activates automatically and projects a lit image — your car's logo, a custom design, or anything you choose — onto the ground beneath the door.
How BangLEDs Work
Our lights use a high-powered LED paired with a laser-etched glass lens. When the LED shines through the etched glass, it projects a razor-sharp image onto any surface below. The glass etching is permanent — it never fades, peels, or distorts over time.

Unbox Your BangLEDs Kit
Open the box and confirm your kit includes the correct number of lights for your vehicle (most cars use 2 or 4). Each light comes fully assembled and ready to install. You'll also find a quick-reference installation card inside.

Open Your Car Door
Open the door fully. Look at the bottom edge of the door panel — you'll see a small circular light housing. That's your factory puddle light. On most vehicles it's located towards the front of the door near the bottom.
Tip: Do this in a shaded area or garage so you can see the housing clearly

Remove the Factory Bulb
Twist the factory light housing counter-clockwise about a quarter turn and pull it out gently. The bulb and connector will come out together as one unit. No tools required — it's designed to come out by hand.

Plug In Your BangLED
Disconnect the factory bulb from the connector and connect your new BangLED in its place. The connector is the same plug — it only fits one way, so you can't connect it incorrectly. You'll feel a satisfying click when it's seated properly.
The connector is keyed — if it doesn't click, flip it 180°

Twist Back In & Test
Insert the new light into the housing and twist clockwise until it locks. Then close the door, open it again, and watch your new projection appear on the ground. Repeat for each door. That's it — you're done.

Pro Tips
MAKE IT LOOK ITS BEST.
Best at Night
Puddle lights look sharpest at night or in a dimly lit garage. On bright sunny days the projection is still visible but less dramatic.
Surface Matters
The projection looks best on flat, smooth, lighter-coloured surfaces like concrete or asphalt. Rough or very dark surfaces reduce contrast.
Keep the Lens Clean
A quick wipe with a microfibre cloth every few weeks keeps the projection crisp. Avoid abrasive cleaners on the glass lens.
It Activates Automatically
The light is triggered by your door switch — the same switch that turns on your interior dome light. There is nothing to turn on or configure.
Fully Weatherproof
You don't need to do anything special in rain or snow. The housing is fully sealed. Drive through puddles, car washes, or a Florida downpour without worry.
